Precious Pooltime 2

I don’t think that there is any doubt that swimming lessons are essential and it is important that every child should learn to swim. This is of paramount importance.

At the same time, we hear that swimming is an important way for adults to maintain health and improve fitness.

Since a child is only a child for 16 or 18 years (depending on definition), and most adults are now expected to live well into their 80s, 90s and for younger generations past 100 years, it should be expected that on balance adults would need more pool time than children. Children are trained to swim for 10-20 hours a week – are they supposed to stop when they become adults? Where should they swim?

Now, in the mornings swimmers are herded into a single lane to make way for aquafit and it looks like the afternoons will be school lessons. Looking for somewhere to swim. If only Leeds weren’t so far away…………..
